Published: 6th of May 2012 With the loss against Bordeaux on Friday, now it all comes down to the last game of the regular season. In order for us to make the playoffs we have to win this game. Winning this game and with Evreux loosing, that will give us the 8th and final playoff position. There is no turning back now, our whole season depends on this last game and it’s time to show everyone that we deserve to be in the playoffs.
In our game against Bordeaux, it was a very fast paced game and we were on the wrong side of it. Bordeaux came out very aggressive and we could not stop their fast break. The majority of their points in the first half came from the fast break. They capitalized on our mistakes. We didn’t seem to have an answer or any rhythm in the first half, and the scoreboard showed. At halftime we were down 17 points. For anyone who has been following us throughout the season will already know that it didn’t mean the game was over. A lot of teams will give up after being down 17 points. For us it was the opposite, we continued to fight and caused them to make turnovers that would allow us to get back in the game. We got within 2 points but could not finish on given opportunities. Our defense could not contain them and the game ended 82-74 in Bordeaux’s favor.
Our season still has some life left in it. Now we have to come back home and get this win against #4 Fos Ouest. The first game of this season we played Fos Ouest and lost at the end. We definitely have to get them back. We are confident that we can beat them and we just have to go out there and do it. There are people out there that don’t want us to win so we have to go out our way to upset them. We worked too hard and come too far to give up now. This next week of practice will probably be the most important week all season. Focus is definitely needed and once May 16th comes we have to leave everything out there on the court (no holding back). We need everyone to contribute and that’s the only way we will be successful.
For those that don’t know me, I’m deeply in love with Jesus Christ. He has been watching me and my team all season. I know he would not bring us this far just to lose. I believe with all my heart that we will win the last regular season game. I’m standing firm on the promise and I will not be moved. When we make the playoffs, it’s going down. A lot of people have counted us out all season but the Lord has brought us out on top time and time again, so I know now he will not leave us now. Like I always say, with God all things are possible. My faith is sky high, so it’s time for you to step your faith up too!!!!
