Well everyone, the 2011-2012 season has officially been over almost two weeks for me. The season did not turn out the way I expected but it was still a great experience and opportunity to play in a very competitive league in Europe. We had the perfect opportunity to make the playoffs but threw it away by not winning games that were suppose to be won. There we some more outside factors that contributed to us not making the playoffs, but I’m not one to gossip about things I don’t have total prove of. I definitely want to thank all my teammates, fans, and LMBC staff for this season. We had our ups and downs, but in the end someone always has to loose in basketball. We are just two wings away from making the playoffs and that’s why its so hard to swallow, considering we lost two must win games. In these games we were ahead but lost in the final seconds. It is never easy loosing games you know you should win. You can’t change the past, all you can do is move forward and focus on whats ahead.
Now that I’m back in Lubbock, Texas I’m taking a couple of weeks off before I get back int0 my summer training. It is tough on your body having to train over 2 hours for every practice for 9 months. I must admit, we lost some games because we trained too long and once the game came around, we were tired. I have never played for a team that has a regular practice the day of a game. We did that for every pre-season game. One thing I did learn from all the long practices was how to take care of my body. Our whole team was plagued with injuries throughout the whole season. We didn’t play a game with our full team until after the Christmas break. This season was a learning experience for me and I always take something from the different places I play.
Now with the summer here, I’m focused on what’s ahead. My off-season training will be more intense than any previous years. I have some upcoming events this summer that I can’t yet reveal to everyone, but I have to be in top physical shape. In a week or two the hard work begins and I’m going to start from the ground up. When next season arrives I will be a different player. I’m am excited where my career is going and when I get there, everyone will wonder how I did it. All I will say is that it wasn’t me but God. Success depends on how hard you work but are you hungry enough to go get it!!!!
